This on-demand training program is designed to equip clinicians with the tools and skills needed to effectively apply Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in individual therapy sessions. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of the core principles of ACT, including acceptance, cognitive defusion, mindfulness, self-as-context, values clarification, & committed action. The course will start from initial conceptualization to real-world clinical implementation, providing actionable strategies to integrate ACT techniques into their practice. The training utilizes numerous case examples and practice exercises to enhance learning and application. No prior experience with ACT is necessary, as the course is tailored to meet the needs of mental health professionals who are looking to build or refine their knowledge of this evidence-based therapy. Bios of presenters: Emily Kidd is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and CEO at AMK Counseling. Frannie Siegel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Lead Clinical Director at AMK Counseling in Chicago, IL. Emily and Frannie specialize in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Objectives: 1. Develop familiarity with Relational Frame Theory and how it informs ACT 2. Deepen understanding of ACT psychological flexibility model and the 6 core processes of change 3. Improve ability to assess for psychological inflexibility processes and patterns within clients 4. Learn strategies to target, model and support the core processes of change 5. Increase understanding of the interplay between flexibility processes to help inform conceptualization and treatment planning 6. Practice applying assessment, conceptualization, and intervention skills using case examples AMK Counseling has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7277. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. AMK Counseling is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
