Sherene Al-Turk
EdS, LCPC
Clinical Supervisor
As a therapist, I am continually inspired by the resilience of my clients and believe anyone who takes the step into therapy is already demonstrating the courage to face and overcome obstacles. I believe progress isn’t linear, and growth does not always follow a set path. Healing is not a one-size-fits-all journey, and I’m committed to working with you at your own pace, tailoring our sessions to your unique needs and experiences. With a mix of directness and compassion, my hope is to utilize both humor and authenticity to create a space where you feel seen and heard.
With a deep respect for your personal journey, I combine evidence-based approaches with genuine empathy, always aiming to empower you to move through your struggles with greater resilience and self-awareness. Whether you’re seeking relief from past wounds or trying to find clarity during a difficult chapter, I’m here to support you in achieving lasting change and self-acceptance.
I specialize in helping individuals navigate the complexities of trauma and its lasting effects. I also work with a wide range of concerns, including self-esteem and relationship struggles, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, suicidality, mood disorders, anger management, impulse control, and life transitions. No matter what you’re facing, my goal is to create a safe and compassionate space where we can explore your challenges, develop practical coping strategies, and work toward building a stronger sense of self and well-being.
Clinical modalities I utilize include:
Narrative Therapy
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Person-Centered Therapy
Solution Focused Therapy
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
In addition to direct therapeutic work with participants, I provide clinical supervision and Continuing Education (CE) training for mental health professionals in the field. I also lead monthly Activism and Allyship discussions within AMK.
I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
