This training is designed to be a comprehensive overview of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as a therapeutic approach when working with body image, self-worth and perfectionism concerns. Clinicians will gain an understanding of general ACT theoretical concepts and current symptoms and challenges that define body image and self-worth concerns as well as perfectionism. We will also discuss strategies to assess for inflexibility processes within this population and empirically based interventions from the ACT treatment modality. Clinicians will also increase their confidence in using these skills with opportunities to practice through discussions and case vignettes. Training objectives: 1. Review core flexibility processes and theoretical concepts that inform Acceptance and Commitment Therapy 2. Learn evidence based ACT interventions and processes that are helpful for supporting body image, perfectionism and self-worth needs 3. Practice implementing ACT flexibility process for body image, perfectionism and self-worth concerns Bio of presenter: Frannie Siegel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Lead Clinical Director at AMK Counseling in Chicago, IL. Using a strengths based and client centered approach, Frannie works with clients to empower them to challenge their perspectives and work towards finding meaningful purpose in their lives. Her clinical experience and interests include working with clients who experience anxiety, depression, grief/loss, life transitions, comorbid conditions, executive functioning building and self- esteem concerns. In addition to providing individual therapy, Frannie also offers individual and group supervision to clinicians. Frannie specializes in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and offers ACT-focused trainings and consultations. AMK Counseling has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7277. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. AMK Counseling is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
