Service Description
This interactive training offers an overview of exposure-based work with children and adolescents in an outpatient therapeutic setting. Clinicians will review theory and mechanisms behind exposures, explore its purpose and clinical utility, and practice building exposure hierarchies for several different clinical presentations. This training emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and experiential learning in a supportive and engaging environment. Training objectives: 1. Review core concepts and theoretical foundations of exposure-based therapy and its clinical utility. 2. Learn how to create and individualize exposure hierarchies based on a client’s specific needs and presenting concerns. 3. Understand appropriate pacing and progression. 4. Take away creative ideas to apply in future clinical work. Bio of presenter: Riley Lowe is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and clinical supervisor at AMK Counseling in Chicago, IL. Her clinical experience and interests include working with individuals who experience anxiety, depression, OCD, executive functioning concerns, trauma, self-esteem and life transitions. Riley has specialized training in Exposure and Response prevention, Selective mutism and Trauma Focused-CBT. In addition, Riley provides clinical supervision at AMK. AMK Counseling has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7277. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. AMK Counseling is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
