Julia Kariotis,LSW, MSW
I know how intimidating it can be to jump into therapy and find someone who is the right fit for you. Whether you’re navigating mood disorders, trauma, relationship challenges, or struggling with self-esteem, I’m here to help you find your way. I take a warm, casual, and empathetic approach to therapy and incorporate humor and compassion into my practice. While I love working with people of all ages, I specialize in working with teenagers, college students, and young adults.
I have a background of working in the criminal justice system with people with a variety of mental health diagnoses and trauma history. I also have specialized training and a passion for working with people on both ends of intimate partner violence. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I’ll empower you to build practical skills and strategies to manage your emotions, enhance your relationships, and build resilience. Together we’ll dive deep into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, uncovering patterns and identifying areas for growth.
I also have a playful side and love working with children and adolescents. I incorporate both play therapy and art therapy into my practice by building on clients’ interests and strengths. I take a collaborative team approach when working with parents so both you and your child feel supported. Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, life transitions, confidence, or trauma, I am here to support you in a nonjudgmental space.
