Kate Swiatek, MSW, LCSW
Hi, I’m glad you’re here. My approach to therapy is meeting people where they are and helping them get to where they want to be. I believe that change happens through genuine connection, so feel free to be completely yourself in therapy – I’ll do the same. I have over a decade of experience working as a social worker in a variety of settings, including residential, medical, and community mental health. I recognize cultural differences and acknowledge my privilege as a cisgender, queer white woman, using this awareness to respect diverse perspectives.
Some topics I’m passionate about include dating/relationships, body image/body neutrality, grief, anxiety, exploring gender and sexuality, life transitions, social difficulties, first generation challenges, and OCD. I also have a special interest in working with artists and musicians who are seeking therapeutic support. I approach therapy through trauma-informed, feminist, relational lenses along with the following approaches:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical and Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Strengths Based Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
