Founder, Parent Lead

Parenting Expert | Clinical Leader | Speaker & Trainer

With over two decades of clinical leadership, I have pioneered a curated, parent-centric approach to modern family wellness. As the founder of AMK Counseling, I serve as a premier strategist and counselor for high-performing, discerning parents who recognize that true, enduring transformation for children starts at the top.

As a recognized authority and industry trainer, I integrate advanced, evidence-based disciplines into a highly individualized, holistic framework unique to my practice. By seamlessly synthesizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) with my specialized SPACE training through the Yale Child Study Center, I move beyond standard clinical protocols. This approach allows me to craft a curated, parent-led strategy that addresses the complete ecosystem of childhood anxiety and family dynamics.

Over my 20+ years in the field, I’ve observed a pivotal clinical truth: individual therapy for a child achieves its highest, most sustainable potential only when parents are deeply engaged in targeted work. Moving away from reactive crisis management, my practice delivers proactive, elevated guidance designed for long-term relational mastery.

To maintain the highest caliber of care and deep focus, I intentionally limit the number of families I work with at any given time. My practice operates on an agile, short-term framework designed for targeted, high-impact results (usually 6–8 sessions), while establishing a trusted, ongoing relationship parents can return to as new developmental chapters arise. These high-touch parenting consultations operate synergistically alongside dedicated individual therapy for both child and parent, offering a sophisticated, multi-layered framework for holistic family support.

______________________________________________________

Outside of my parent work, I specialize in anxiety, depression, OCD, and women’s health. I have dedicated my career to partnering with my clients to empower them to make sustainable changes. I work with my clients to help them to live with greater resilience, confidence, and authenticity.

With a warm and welcoming approach, I create a safe space for my clients to explore their emotions and develop coping strategies. My deep understanding of mental health issues, coupled with my genuine empathy, allows me to connect with clients on a deeper level.

Throughout my career, I have earned a reputation for my professionalism, integrity, and commitment to my clients’ well-being. My holistic approach to counseling incorporates evidence-based techniques and a deep respect for each individual’s experiences and values.

My collaborative style ensures that clients feel empowered and engaged in the therapeutic process. I believe in meeting clients where they are and working together to identify and achieve their goals- ultimately leading to a greater sense of meaning and feeling successful (vs just being successful).

In addition to my clinical work, I am dedicated to ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest research and trainings that meet the gold standard in therapeutic modalities to ensure the highest quality of care for my clients.

I love my work and my hope is that our sessions can be an empowering place for change.
