Maggie McAuley, MSW, LCSW
Therapist
As your therapist, I’ll give you a safe space where you can take down your guard, allow yourself to be seen, and feel supported without judgment. So many things in life keep us from being vulnerable, I want to support you in giving yourself permission to take up space, be open, feel heard, and have your needs met. Therapy is your space and I will meet you where you're at with my experience and education to help you achieve the goals you set for yourself. My clinical foundation is built on trauma-informed care, non-judgment, warmth, curiosity, finding space for humor, and acknowledging that my clients are the experts on their own experiences.
I have previously worked in Residential and Partial Hospitalization Programs, where the high symptom, crisis-based environment supported me in becoming a proficient clinician in treating a wide array of symptoms across a diverse population of clients.
I have experience working with individuals struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, grief/loss, self-image, body image distress, disordered eating, OCD, addictive behaviors, personality disorders, mood disorders, neurodivergence, life transitions and relationship challenges. I am passionate about being an advocate for the underserved and underrepresented in our community. My duty as a social worker is to continue to educate myself on how I can best support those who come from different backgrounds than me who deserve informed compassionate care.
Each client calls for their own individualized approach – I mesh each clients needs and preferences with my personal therapeutic style and the below therapeutic modalities:
- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for Trauma
- Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD
- Motivational Interviewing (MI)
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
