Sid Smith, MSW, LSW
Therapist
Hi there! I’m Sid, a licensed social worker and therapist. I believe that lasting change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship-- one consisting of compassion, trust, and safety. I strive to create a space with my clients where their internal world may be safely explored and externalized. I practice from both a relational and existential framework, believing that our emotional wellbeing stems from the ways in which we relate to others and that our distress comes from life’s big questions of identity, purpose, and self-expression. I trust that my clients are the experts of their own lives and fully capable of determining what success looks and feels like to them, in their own words and on their own terms.
I have experience working with clients across the lifespan as they navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, life transitions, and self-esteem. I practice several evidence-based modalities including CBT, ACT, and Narrative Therapy. Whether you are returning to therapy or trying it out for the very first time, I’m excited to talk with you about your individual goals and what you hope to get out of therapy.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy biking along the lakefront, fine-tuning my
sourdough recipe and catching a weekend ballgame.
I look forward to meeting you!
I incorporate the following clinical treatment modalities:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

Play Therapy
