In the clinical setting, I offer a warm and welcoming space for clients to feel safe, supported, and challenged. I enjoy working with clients as they build their resilience, embrace their vulnerability, and integrate the skills they already possess with ones that may lead to a more balanced life.
My experience includes helping clients across the lifespan with anxiety, life transitions, trauma, OCD, Body-focused repetitive behaviors, phobias, parental and postpartum issues, Women’s health, Tourette and Tic Disorders, difficulties with boundaries, self-confidence, and other stressor-related concerns.
I’m trained in Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD and Supportive Parenting for Childhood Anxious Emotions. I also hold a Level II Certification in Trauma treatment. I’ve led professional workshops on mental health for partners in the Chicago community. I work from a trauma-informed, person-centered lens, putting the client first. I am skilled in CBT, DBT, ACT, and integrate these theoretical orientations with a feminist perspective and mindfulness-based approach.
My experience has come from a background in teaching as well as my clinical work in residential, university, and community mental health settings. My passions lie in making mental health care accessible for BIPOCs and other underserved, marginalized communities. I currently serve on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Action Council of the IOCDF. I am LGBTQ+, non-traditional monogamy, and kink-affirming.
My clinical approach is integrative, but I rely heavily on trauma-informed and empirically-based methods such:
